The New Generation Nutrition (NGN) and the IITA Business Incubation Platform (BIP) are excited to launch the Insects4Feed Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, designed to nurture entrepreneurs in the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) value chain.
This initiative, part of the Insects4Feed Project, addresses the increasing demand for sustainable and affordable animal protein sources in Nigeria’s livestock feed industry through Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larva farming.
About the Program
This five-week incubation program will equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in:
✅ Black Soldier Fly (BSF) breeding techniques
✅ BSF value chain development
✅ BSF management
✅ BSF business plan development

Through this program, participants will become local producers of BSF larvae, offering a cost-effective and locally sourced alternative to expensive imported animal protein feeds for fish, poultry farmers, and animal feed industries.

Who Can Apply?
✔️ Minimum SSCE qualification
✔️ Must be literate (able to read and write)
✔️ Passionate about insect farming
✔️ Open to learning new technologies and sharing knowledge
✔️ Basic computer and data processing skills
✔️ Strong communication, interpersonal, and entrepreneurial skills
✔️ Attentive to details

Participants must:
🔹 Adhere to standard insect production practices
🔹 Have a dedicated space for BSF farming
🔹 Be ready to set up an insect business (small, medium, or large scale)
🔹 Use approved equipment for operations
🔹 Manage organic matter properly to prevent odor
🔹 Be committed to learning, attending all required training and meetings
🔹 Follow global standard procedures of the Insects4Feed Impact Cluster
🔹 Handle farm management and maintenance costs
